As a Corvallis resident since 1971 and a Realtor® since 1980, Shirley has gained an in-depth knowledge of the community and the mid-Willamette Valley real estate market. Her warm, friendly personality, her attention to detail, and her in-depth knowledge of the market and her success in satisfying customers has earned her a remarkable 99.9% rate of transaction closures.

Shirley is a real estate principal broker who has earned the ABR (Accredited Buyer Representation) designation, which demonstrates that she has completed the training required to provide a full menu of services for buyer representation. In addition, she carries the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation, which she earned by completing residential sales courses, demonstrating expertise in applied residential marketing, and selling more than $1 million of property per year of experience.

Throughout her career, Shirley has been involved in community activities. In recognition of her contributions, she was selected as one of three finalists for First Citizen of Corvallis in 1992. Her activities include serving on the boards of directors for Chamber of Commerce, Corvallis-Benton County Public Library Foundation, Community Outreach, Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and Samaritan Health Services, and Corvallis Rotary Club; presidencies of Assistance League® of Corvallis (more than 30 years of service) and PEO; and chairing the boards of directors for the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, First United Methodist Church, Wish Foundation and Benton Breast and Cervical Cancer Coalition. In 1993 Shirley completed 50 hours of caregiving training through the Stephen Minister Series and is certified to serve as a Stephen Minister. She has volunteered with Cub, Girl and Boy Scouts, Webelos, and Brownies as leader and merit badge counselor.

Shirley's husband, Spencer Peterson, is an environmental research scientist. They have two grown children, Scott and Sheila, and two grandchildren. Although her leisure time is rare, Shirley enjoys biking, walking, reading, and traveling when possible.
