Albany Public Library
Promoting community, life-long learning, and quality services in a safe, welcoming space.
The Albany Public Library (APL) is your library, a welcoming place for community, life-long learning, and fun. At the two locations—the Main Library (2450 14th Avenue SE) and the historic Carnegie Library (302 Ferry Street SW)—you will find collections and programs for any age or interest. The book clubs, maker space, story times, and teen events bring the community together to learn and play. With nearly 300,000 items (including Board Games and Video Games) to borrow in English and in Spanish, at the libraries and through e-book apps, there is something for everyone at the APL.
The Summer Reading Program is for all ages. It begins June 1st and runs through August 26th. Whether you are reading to a baby or soaking up the sun while perusing a magazine, summer is a great time to work toward your reading goals. This year’s theme is Bugs! We welcome those of all ages to catch the reading bug!
Later this Summer, be on the lookout for the launch of the APL Library of Things. Patrons will be able to borrow a variety of items from pressure washers to sous vide cookers and many more.
