Stone Soup Corvallis, Inc.
Providing hot, nutritious meals to the hungry 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Stone Soup Corvallis is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to providing hot, nutritious meals every day, year-round—no questions asked—while honoring the dignity of each person served. Their vision is a community where no one experiences hunger or food insecurity.
Operating with a part-time food service manager and a dedicated volunteer board, Stone Soup serves tens of thousands of meals annually. Volunteers handle meal planning, preparation, serving, setup, cleanup, and dishwashing. Stone Soup never misses a meal—regardless of illness, weather, or equipment failures. Diners enjoy a warm space, coffee, and a fresh meal while engaging with volunteers. Toward the end of the hour, guests may take a second meal to go.
This work wouldn’t be possible without the continued support of host churches First Christian Church and First Congregational United Church of Christ, which provide kitchen and dining facilities. Meals are also delivered to Unity Shelter’s Hygiene Center four times a week.
Local partners include Linn Benton Food Share, Unity Shelter, Sharing Garden, and others. Stone Soup gleans from Trader Joe’s, McDonald’s, and Good Samaritan Hospital and receives in-kind donations from businesses and individuals. Community donations fund over 75% of operations, supplemented by grants.

St. Mary’s Albany Soup Kitchen
Providing balanced meals to all community members in need since 1983.
The St. Mary’s Albany Soup Kitchen provides balanced meals to community members in need. It opened in 1983 after local mill closures left many jobless and has served meals ever since. Today, it continues offering in-person dining, along with extra fruits, vegetables, bread, and other essentials. The meal service also fosters community connection, and additional resources, such as a clothes closet, are available when possible. The kitchen is an equal-opportunity provider.
The soup kitchen operates Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Holiday schedules may vary. The kitchen is located in the basement of St. Mary’s of Albany at Ellsworth and 9th Street.
Volunteers are always needed to prepare meals, serve food, clean up, pick up food donations, and assist with fundraising. To volunteer or learn more, call Pat Jacobson at 541-926-1449 ext. 317.
Another great way to support St. Mary’s Albany Soup Kitchen is through a cash gift to the parish, earmarked for the kitchen. To learn more, please visit stmarysalbany.com/soup-kitchen or click on the photo below.
