The Dementia Warriors
Supporting and improving the lives of those living with dementia and their families.
Loss of memory and/or cognitive skills can begin at any age. Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are NOT “old-people diseases!” Many live with dementia for about 10 years, on average, before seeking a diagnosis. Early detection gives you time to start self care and stave off the onset. Knowledge is power!
The Dementia Warriors’ mission is to offer hope and a renewed sense of purpose. They provide support and connection to those with dementia and their family with twice-monthly support group meetings, social outings, easy walks, and a private Facebook group. Support group meetings are every first and third Wednesday of each month at Peace Lutheran Church, 2540 Applegate Street, Philomath from 2:30pm–4:00pm. All are welcome!
The founder of this important organization, Jerry Wylie, recently passed away, leaving behind an incredible legacy. Through his leadership, the Dementia Warriors have helped raise awareness about these challenging diseases and offer unique support for the entire family. Thank you, Jerry.
